Rap star Rick Ross and an unidentified woman were fired at on Monday morning while driving in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. According to MSNBC on Jan. 28, no one was injured following the shooting.
Ross was driving at 5 a.m. EST when the gunmen opened fire on his Rolls Royce. The rapper heard the gunfire and tried to get away. As he tried to escape the danger, Ross crashed his car into an apartment building. Luckily, Ross and Shateria L. Moragne-el walked away from the accident unharmed.
After the shooting, neither Ross nor Moragne-el wanted their names released out of fear for their own safety, as well as the safety of their families. However, it didn't take long for their identities to become public knowledge.
Witnesses say they heard up to 20 shots fired at the Rolls Royce that Ross was driving.
Rick Ross has had his own run-ins with the police over his life, arrested in 2008 on gun and marijuana charges. Later, in 2012, a dead body was found outside of Ross' house. However, the house was one that Ross owned but rented out to tenants and he was not a suspect in the case.
Fort Lauderdale Police are still searching for the gunmen and want anyone with information to call them at 954-828-5546.
