WWE is back on pay per view tonight in New Orleans, with their Elimination Chamber event. Headlining the card will be the signature namesake match, featuring past winners of the event, and a rematch for the WWE Championship.
Prior to every pay per view, WWE holds a special pre-show event on their social media networks. Tonight's pre-show will feature a special tag team match, as Brodus Clay and Tensai will face the recently reunited team of Cody Rhodes and Damien Sandow.
The actual pay per view will feature the Divas Championship being on the line, as Houston native Kaitlyn will put the gold on the line against Tamina Snuka. Kaitlyn won the title at Raw's 20th Anniversary special in Houston last month, and will look to make a successful defense against the daughter of WWE Hall of Fame legend Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka.
The Miz and Antonio Cesaro have been engulfed in a recent feud, that saw Cesaro get embarrassed by both Miz and "The Nature Boy' Ric Flair. Tonight in New Orleans, Cesaro puts the title on the line against the former US Champion. Can Miz bring the gold back around his waist, or will he fall victim to Cesaro's Neutralizer?
In recent months, a new group of renegades have burst onto the scene and made things very interesting about WWE. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns (collectively known as The Shield) have been a constant thorn in the side of John Cena, Ryback, and Sheamus. At Elimination Chamber, The Shield will have to deal with those three former World Champions as they face off in a special six-man tag match tonight.
Big Show and Alberto Del Rio have been the center of SmackDown controversy lately, as they've been at war every since Del Rio took the World Heavyweight Championship from him in a Last Man Standing match several weeks ago on the Friday night program. Tonight at Elimination Chamber, they will meet one more time to see who is the top champion.
The Elimination Chamber has been a mainstay since 2002, when WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels won the debut match and became World Heavyweight Champion. Tonight, six men will step into the structure with the winner getting a shot at the World Champion at WrestleMania 29. Chris Jericho, Daniel Bryan, Mark Henry, Kane, Jack Swagger, and Randy Orton will step into the Chamber and fight for that right.
And the WWE Championship will also be on the line, as The Rock defends against CM Punk. Back at the Royal Rumble in January, Punk's 400-plus day reign as champion was upended by The Rock. Since then, Punk has screamed at everybody that would listen that he is STILL the champion and that Rock is walking around with stolen property. Tonight, these two will tear New Orleans apart as each man looks to walk away with the gold. And don't forget the special stipulation -- if Rock gets himself disqualified or counted out, CM Punk will immediately be declared WWE Champion.
All of this action goes down tonight in New Orleans at WWE Elimination Chamber, live on pay per view. For more information check out WWE.com.
