Rock Out into the New Year

It's the eve before new's years eve and I'm sure many of you are trying to figure out what you should do. Well there's the place to find out what different celebrations are going on around the Houston area. All events are on December 31st.

The Hyatt Regency is hosting it's Annual New Year's Eve Celebration in the Imperial Ballroom. The celebration begins at 7p.m. and goes all the way into the new year. "Spanning four floors and featuring two live bands, a D.J. , party favors and the famous 50,000 balloon cascade at midnight," this is Houston's largest New Year's Eve Celebration! Tickets are $89 per person and includes four drink coupons, party favors, Latin bets from Yelba, live entertainment and dancing. The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts will be hosting Musical Resolutions. It's a night the genius' of the Baroque period. "This festive program of Musical Resolutions mixes concerti and suites by Bch and Telemann with Handel's sublime dramatic cantata Apollo e Dafne." Artists for the evening include Soprano Mellssa Givens, Bass-Baritone Timothy Jones, Kathryn Montoya on the recorder and Colin St. Martin on Baroque Flute. A gala reception will follow the performances. The evening starts at 8:30p.m. Adult tickets range from $31.25-$41.25 Children and Seniors are free and Students tickets are $21.25. Fitzgerald's is hosting Free Press' New Years Eve Cataclysm. The schedule of performers include, Wild Moccasins, Weird Party, Limb, Golden Ave, BLACKIE, Hamamatsu Tom,, Hex Dispensers, Fat Tony, Delicious Milk and State Vs. Judd Nelson. And the best part is: THIS IS A FREE SHOW for 21+! If you're under 21, tickets are $10. The evening begins at 8:30p.m. and goes on into the New Year. The AvantGarden will play host to a "FREE House Party" with some minor exceptions. There is a twi drink minimum and a $6 valet is required (no stree parking available). Meet members from HSF, Discovering Houston, Salsa Meetup/Omni Salsa, Houston Professional Friends and MUCH MORE!" There will be a DJ spinning the best dance music of the TOP 40, the 80's and more. At the Hideaway on Dunvale, Neil Austin Imber with Bri Bagwell will help you rock into the New Year. "Neil Austin Imber is a singer / songwriter who's energizing mix of rock and country has been captivating music fans across the Lone Star State. Bri Bagwell brings her catchy, original tunes and plenty of smiles and laughter to her shows. She is now a part of the Ferrata Music Group roster, and with a demo in the making, she's ready to take on the scene in her high-heeled boots." This is a 21+ celebration. The Westin at the Galleria will play host to the New Years Eve Ball. The night includes, complimentary champagne for the midnight toast, live performances and entertainment, free new years eve party favors, magicians,and a big screen TV with the live feed from New York City's celebration. Tickets are the evening range from $45-$75. VIP tickets are available with extra perks. The evening begins at 8p.m and goes well into the new year. Performers include, DJ Johnny Y-J, DJ Danko, Exotic Cirus Acrobats, Snake Man, a Saxophonist, NIQ, and Tano, Samba, and Salsa dancers. And finally, Houston's Discovery Green will play host to GLOWORAMA! This is an "illuminated power-packed event." Luckily for us, Gloworama is free to the public but there are also VIP tickets available.(http://www.gloworama.com/vip.htm) This celebration includes, an illuminated Car Parade, a state-of-the-art 3D light show and fireworks display on the side of the GRB, Fun-filled interactive roaming entertainment, Skating at the Ice Rink until midnight, and Arc Attack performances on the Jones Lawn. The concert for the evening will feature "Texas Honky-Tonker" Jesse Dayton. The evening begins at 7p.m. and goes until the count down to midnight.
