The Rock on the Range festival set in Columbus, Ohio is 8 days away and counting. The 2-day fest features over 30 hard rock and metal artists, including such acts as Godsmack, Rob Zombie, and Three Days Grace. For complete info, please visit this previous article.
Since the original announcement of bands back in February, there have been a few changes and announcements:
Jacksonville rockers, Cold, have dropped from the bill and have been replaced by Michigan’s Taproot. Taproot’s new album, Plead the Fifth, was just released this past Tuesday through Victory Records and is available on iTunes.
The “to be determined” slot on the ROTR lineup has been filled by Columbus’ own State Your Cause. The band competed against 28 other hopeful acts in an attempt to win the coveted spot and play on the Jagermeister Stage at the fest. Check out iTunes to purchase their singles “Backroading” and “Bring You Back” and make sure to visit the bands myspace page for a cover of Ke$ha’s “Tik Tok.”
In an effort to give back, ROTR will make a $.50 cent donation per ticket sold to the Metro Nashville Disaster Response Fund. The Fund, consisting of a partnership between the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee, the Office of the Mayor of Nashville, and Davidson County's Office of Emergency Management, will support relief efforts necessitated by the recent flooding which has impacted so many lives.
While which band will be playing what day as well as what stage was announced back in March, the times each band will be playing has yet to be determined. As in previous years, you can expect those times to be posted sometime early next week.
Lastly, if you purchased your tickets to the fest before midnight on Sunday, February 21st, you were automatically entered to win backstage access to meet many of the ROTR artists. Randomly selected winners will be notified by e-mail tomorrow via a representative from the Columbus Crew Stadium. Good luck!
