Plans for the 28th Woodstock Mozart Festival are underway at both the Woodstock Opera House on 121 Van Buren Street and the Sanfilippo Foundation’s Place de la Musique concert hall on 789 Plum Tree Road in Barrington Hills.
On July 24, clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein and pianist Igor Lipinski will play Mozart’s Quartet in G Minor for Piano and Strings, and his Quintet for Clarinet and Strings in A Major—with a post-concert clarinet master class.
Also in July (26-27), Fiterstein will perform Rossini’s Overture from L’Italiana in Algeri, Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto in A Major and Haydn’s Symphony No. 101 in D Major under the baton of conductor Istvan Jaray.
Jaray joins Lipinski in August (2-3) with a program featuring Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture, Op. 26, Mozart’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra in D Minor, and his Symphony No. 36 in C Major.
In August (9-10), violinist and conductor Igor Gruppman and violinist/violist Vesna Gruppman perform Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Serenade for Strings, Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons “Winter,” Op. 8, No. 4 and his Concerto Grosso in A Minor for Two Violins, Op. 3, No. 8. The concert also includes Warlock’s Capriol Suite for Strings as well as Piazzolla’s Oblivion and The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires.
