The Rock Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland will celebrate the 75th birthday of Elvis Presley with a weekend of special events Jan. 8 and 9, the Hall announced Tuesday.
The two days of events will include a symbolic signing of a birthday card and footage of ceremonies involving the inductions of Presley (1986), and Elvis' sidemen Scotty Moore (2000), James Burton (2001) and D.J. Fontana and Bill Black (both 2009) into the Hall.
Also featured on Jan. 8 will be a birthday cake and a presentation by chief curator Jim Henke on the significance and history of Elvis Presley and the artifacts in the Hall. Some of the Hall's Elvis memorabilia includes his 1975 Lincoln Continental Mark IV 2 Door Coupe, jumpsuits, an acoustic guitar, two of the handguns he owned and a Seeburg Selectromatic Jukebox 100 presented to him by RCA Records.
Also, on Jan. 9, "Elvis: Aloha From Hawaii," the legendary concert from Jan. 14, 1973, will be screened at 11:45 a.m.
The first 1,000 visitors to the Hall that purchase a regular adult admission ticket on the two days will receive a free three-song Elvis Presley CD sampler.
The updated schedule of events is available here.
