The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum announced information about their program being held on April 18, 2013, in a Jan. 23, 2013 press release. The 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held at Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, Calif.. The initial presenters and performers were announced, along with ticketing information.
The induction will be televised on Saturday, May 18, 2013 (9 p.m. EST/PST), on HBO. Induction into the 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to air on HBO
The ceremony will honor this year’s recently announced inductees Heart, Albert King, Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Rush and Donna Summer, as well as Lou Adler and Quincy Jones, this year’s recipients of the Ahmet Ertegun Award for Lifetime Achievement.
Special guests at the 28th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction are set to include John Mayer, Gary Clark Jr., Don Henley, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Hudson, Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins.
John Mayer and Gary Clark Jr. will honor late bluesman Albert King, with Mayer giving the introduction. Don Henley ("History of the 'Eagles'"' to air on Showtime), who was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, will induct Randy Newman. Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Hudson will perform in honor of of late disco queen Donna Summer. Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins, of the Foo Fighters, will induct Rush. More details about performances, additional presenters and special guests will be announced at a later date.
The inductees will ultimately be represented in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, Ohio. The museum's mission is to preserve, educate and interpret the significance of rock and roll through exhibits, its library and archives.

American Express Cardmembers will be able to purchase tickets via Ticketmaster from Thursday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m. PST through Sunday, Jan. 27 at 10 p.m. PST.
Preferred seating presales will be available for members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, as well as members of the Heart and Rush official fan clubs, beginning on Monday, Jan 28 at 10 a.m. PST through Thursday, Jan. 31 at 10 p.m. PST at Ticketmaster. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum members should reference the official member e-newsletter for details.
The public on-sale will begin on Friday, February 1 at 10 a.m. PST. To purchase tickets, visit Ticketmaster or charge-by-phone at 1-800-745-3000. There will be a four-ticket limit on all orders. Additionally, three levels of VIP packages will be available through Ticketmaster.
