Robsten named the highest grossing on-screen romantic couple by Forbes

Movie makers might do well to pay attention to on-screen romance when it comes to planning upcoming films that might just hit pay dirt at the box office. Case in point is Robsten--aka Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart--of “Twilight” fame. According to Forbes on Jan. 17, 2013, the on and off-screen couple tops the list as the on-screen couple whose movies gross the most at the box office. That means their on-screen romance made more cash than the other nine pairs who also made the top 10 list, although each couple created box office gold--literally.

Forbes came to its conclusion about Robsten by looking at the top-grossing romantic movies over the past three years. The money and finance magazine took its information from Box Office Mojo, and then created a top 10 list of the on-screen couples who made the most money. In the U.S., the pairing of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson grossed almost two billion dollars. Forbes was quick to say that the coupling of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart did give them an advantage over the other couples in the long run, because Robsten starred in three top grossing films together. (Thank you, “Twilight” franchise!)

Although their stint as Bella and Edward will soon come to a close, Robsten will remain busy. Both have upcoming projects to work on, which include the sequel to “Snow White and the Huntsman” for Kristen Stewart and “Queen of the Desert” for Robert Pattinson.

Other couples who made the list include Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, Channing Tatum and Rachel McAdams, and Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling. To read the whole list, go to Forbes.com.
