Musician Lee Davila, also known in the world of children’s music as “Mr. Leebot,” launches his second kid-energizing CD, Robot Dance, which has already garnered an NPPA Honors Award by the National Parenting Publications Association.
Departing slightly from the initial footsteps of his first outing Activate, the Austin, Texas based songwriter and entertainer delves deeper into the world of specialized Synthpop sounds, bending creativity further with an eclectic amalgam of elements that hint of the New Wave movement of the 1980’s, with influences of Kraftwerke and Devo.
Pulsating repetitive rhythms that are popular in electronic dance music encourages kids to get up, move around and dance.
Davila says, “I'm continually inspired by new odd ball sounds, especially when parents tell me how much their kiddos dig the music.”
Positive messages are embedded in the conservation-friendly “Green Family,” and safety conscious, “Protect Your Nog.”
Davila also reaches out to a child’s level of understanding in “Letters and Numbers” as well as the playful instructions in “Paper Airplane,” and the simple, happy song, “It’s Your Birthday.”
You can preview all 16 tracks here, as well as download companion lyrics.
