“I loved Robin Williams in 'Jakob the Liar,'” Terri Waters, a fan of Williams from Oklahoma City, said. “I think that was one of his best roles. Even though it is about the Holocaust, he made parts of it funny as he tried to hide the ugliness from his son.”
“Jakob the Liar” is just one of Williams' many roles on the big screen. He starred in over 30 movies. Robin Williams won an Oscar for his role of Sean Maguire in “Good Will Hunting.” He also had a starring role as John Keating in “Dead Poets Society.” Other Robin Williams' movies include “A.I. Artificial Intelligence,” “What Dreams May Come,” “Jack” and “Popeye.”
“I thought he was brilliant in 'Dead Poets Society,'” Mary Wilson, another fan of Williams from Moore, said. “ He was such a talented genius. Funny or serious, Robin Williams always made his character real to me. He had a way of touching us with the wit or wisdom of his roles.”
Robin Williams was born in Chicago in 1951. He was raised in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Williams' classmates voted him the funniest and most likely to succeed his senior year in high school. He attended Clarement where studied political science and then won a scholarship to Julliard School in New York after taking a class in improvisational comedy. His classmates included William Hurt, Mandy Patinkin and Christopher Reeve.
“I am too sad for words,” Jenny Webber, from Oklahoma City, said. “I just stared at the TV. I couldn't believe that Robin Williams was gone. I can't imagine what could make him so sad, so hopeless, to take his own life. He was so talented and loved by millions.”
At the time of publication, there was no information about a memorial service for Robin Williams. The great actor and comedian will mourned by millions around the world.
