ROBIN WILLIAMS: DEPRESSION AND DELIVERANCE

I really enjoyed Robin Williams’ work as it related to Mork and Mindy. I understand that he did a lot of good things in his life but the first time I watched his stand up routine, I thought it was pretty nasty. I considered his work by which he became rich and famous in this world; I also consider the 22 veteran soldiers or so who die each day via suicide. They were never going to get rich by their work and it was generally a lot more important to our eventual well being than anything Williams did. Yet, very few of them could be recalled by name, nationally. They are just as precious to their family and friends as is Williams. But Yeshua (Jesus) said that the world loves its own. Yeshua also made it clear that there would be little profit for a man in gaining the whole world and losing himself.

Considering the things I mentioned above, I have not participated in the near 24/7 praise of Robin Williams. Like most people I listened for a time with some sadness, remembering him as I rather as Mork. But I remember that this man said that the enemy is not death and that the first thing he would do if he went to heaven is seek the chief seats and wait on Elvis and the like to show up. I knew that he was either joking or that he certainly did not know very much about the Messiah. The fact that he would take his own life confirms that truth. This is not some supreme put down or some assignment to eternal torment. What God has planned for all is more intricate than what most think. There is a scripture that indicates that it is more instructive to enter into the house of sadness than in the house of mirth. It causes us to think in ways we never would while partying. It is time to understand that truth the world does not know about deliverance from depression; nor can it accept that truth. Let’s talk about it. It may be that someone we know may benefit. The secret to the world is that when anyone really knows Christ, whatever they have to deal with can be overcome, every time! You maintain your relationship with Christ; you will always end up with a mindset mentioned in Philippians 4th chapter, 6-7th verse.

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

And again, no matter what the situation is, God will always provide the solution for you. Even if it is death, he can cause you to go in peace. God has called us to peace. In the world we will have tribulation, but in him his promise is that we would have peace. It is simply not possible that it could be otherwise and he still be, the way, the truth and the life.

Not all church goers, professing to be Christian, know or understand the promises that literally make the divine nature of God available to them. Most show no visible difference mind wise, between themselves and any natural person. This is not a put down of any treatments for depression. Probably the more you can keep people doing in an orderly way; the more they learn how to create endorphins; the more those that love them work to protect them, the better. And I will say many lives have been saved by these methods. Every one can be helped. But what would you think if I said that Williams and other knew more about what to say during these times than 99% of those trying to help them. He in particular had been there, done that.

Yet for those who really want to know what God is doing, there is a way where all valleys are lifted up and all hills are made low and the rough places are made as level ground. It is written that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” The scripture explains how this works and why.

Most people seem to treat Christianity, which is the knowing of the Father and the Son and following their commands, as philosophy only. Or they think that life is a flip of a coin. They say but for the grace of God, there go I. No, just because you are not perfect, does not mean you have to do the same thing. You don’t have to do evil. Still the fact that you are not perfect makes it impossible for you to earn salvation, which requires perfection. Here is what God decided. He decided to make those willing to seek and obey into a different kind of creature. If you are trying to act like a new creature with your mind only, you will be subject to exactly what the rest of the world is subject to. On the other hand if you have truly come to the Messiah your lord, willing and trying to obey everything he said, he will give you the very Spirit of God. This is that spirit that garnished the heavens and created the earth. It is the very personality, power and deep thoughts of the YHVH the creator. Do you think it can do more than drugs or a 12 step program or any other help man can provide? Of course! But most professing Christians that I have met do not have much more than a clue to that which we are called. They are nice people but do not know that we have all power at our disposal to overcome any situation. How so, you might ask. In case you are one that doesn’t know, I will tell.

One of the problems is a lack of Knowledge of what God is doing. If he does not totally remove a situation, a temptation or danger that takes time and effort, a lot of professing Christians assume, they must beg until he does. If it does not happen, they have nothing real that they can hold on to but blind belief. Scripture says, that the reason the misery of man is great upon him, is because he does not know what is coming or when it is coming. So let’s alleviate that problem right now. I know this is ONLY for those devoted to God; for any one else reading this, you might want to become devoted after hearing what God has made available.

2 PETER CHAPTER 1
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Notice: Grace is that which is freely given. You don’t have to earn it. But it is multiplied as you learn what it is that is given you and you stop calling God a lie in your mind. As long as you don’t know, in your mind you are saying you have to do this or that alone or you are waiting for some thing from God that you are unsure of. You don’t have to wait. Find the promises and use them to partake of God’s very nature. Once you find the promises and is dedicated to Him, you are guaranteed by God to benefit from them, according to his word, every time. You don’t have to coax if out of God. However, you need to know that he wants you to have some skin in the whole matter. He does not want nor does he generally just do every thing for you. If he did, you would never grow in character. Why change anything if you can throw the ball over you head intentionally and it still arrive as a strike over the plate? Listen to this.
