The couple met when Thicke, 36, was 14 and married in June 2005, told People in a joint statement that they have “mutually decided to separate at this time.” They have a three-year-old son, Julian Fuego.
Thicke and his wife appeared together at the Grammy Awards on Jan. 26 and were all smiles despite multiple reports that the singer cheated on his wife of eight years.
The New York Daily News reports that Thick was seen with “an unidentified woman” at a nightclub in Paris at the beginning of the year. He was spotted dancing all night at Club 79 with the woman and she was “certainly not Patton.”
Controversy about Thicke’s infidelity also swirled around in the media when he did the bump and grind with Miley Cyrus at the MTV Video Music Awards back in August. Dirty dancing with Cyrus and her foam finger wasn’t all Thicke did to arouse suspicion that he was straying from his wife.
The "Give it 2 U" singer partied it up at New York’s popular 1Oak nightclub. Thicke was photographed with fan who posted the photo online showing the singer grabbing her backside and smiling for the camera.
In a Star magazine interview in September, Thicke talked about his married to Patton, who recently appeared in the movie, “2 Guns.” He described their union as “the greatest love of the century, and the most functional, dysfunctional marriage in Hollywood.”
