Robin Thicke was in the thick of his MTV VMA pre-concert performance benefiting HIV/AIDS educational organization called Lifebeat on Aug. 23, the night his "Give It 2 U" video premiered. That same day, the "Blurred Lines" singer ran into rapper Macklemore, a man of many Instagram photos.
Of course, Macklemore added to his collection on Friday with a friendly image showing the two musicians in a selfie entitled, "Me [and] Robin Thicke].
Meanwhile, Robin Thicke's new video dropped on "VMA All Access" after which time the singer asked for support and criticism for the short film in which he takes many credits (including make-up) on Twitter.
Thicke tweeted, "What do you think of the 'Give It 2 U Video'?" as he provided a hashtag for all answers. Some were harsh but most were supportive of the party hardy, twerking-laden clip that takes place on an R-rated football field.
That said, Robin also asked for fans to vote for his "Blurred Lines" video via his main social media account that includes almost 750,000 followers.
As if this wasn't enough, all was happening while around the time Thicke took part in rehearsals for his MTV VMA 2013 performance of what is said to be a live version of "Give It 2 U." He'll be featured on stage during Sunday's show along with veteran VMA guests Lady Gaga, Kanye West, Katy Perry, and 'NSYNC. Oh, and a 60-foot, inflatable Moonman.
No doubt Robin Thicke has a whole lot of stuff going on this weekend, culminating tomorrow night when he will battle against none other than Macklemore (with Ryan Lewis and featuring Wanz), Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, and Justin Timberlake for VMA Video of the Year 2013.
Who will win? Stay tuned.
