Robin Thicke and Paula Patton decide to split: ‘We will always love each other’

A Hollywood love story has come to a shocking halt. As CNN reports on Feb. 24, R&B singer Robin Thicke and his wife, actress Paula Patton, have decided to give their marriage a break.

The couple has been together since they were teenagers and they have built a family together. Married in 2005, the couple has a son, Julian Fuego, who they welcomed in April 2010. The couple denied rumors that their marriage was on the rocks a year ago. But apparently there was some truth to that as both have mutually decided to go their own ways as explained in a joint statement released to the media.

“We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time.”

The couple has not given a reason for the split up, and with their last public appearance together at the Grammys, the couple looked happy. The “Blurred Lines” singer referred to Patton as his “rock” back when he dismissed rumors that they were having marriage problems a year ago.

“I don’t know if I would still be alive in some ways if it wasn’t for Paula,” the singer told Prestige Hong Kong magazine. “She’s been my rock, my muse, my inspiration and I love her. The whole way.”

The 36-year-old Thicke met Patton back when he was just 14 years old and has publicly expressed how he felt about their marriage, saying “we’re pretty sure we’ve loved each other for a few lives.”
