Robin Roberts will be first guest judge on 'Dancing with the Stars' this season

When the castoffs and the judges of "Dancing with the Stars" were on ABC's "Good Morning America" on March 25, a special announcement was made.

Robin Roberts, anchor of "GMA" will appear on the popular dancing competition show on Monday, March 31. Roberts will be the first guest judge in a series of stars that will sit at the judges' table with Len Goodman, Bruno Tonioli and Carrie Ann Inaba.

Roberts said:

"I am nervous...but you got to step outside of your comfort zone. I think I am going to take the perspective of those who normally watch at home."

Roberts also asked viewers for their judging advice on Twitter.

Roberts is the first of many celebrity guest judges, including professional dancer Julianne Hough, singer Ricky Martin and LMFAO's Redfoo.

Adding a guest judge is just one of many changes "Dancing with the Stars" has made in its 18th season, which included replacing longtime co-host Brooke Burke with Erin Andrews.

In another twist for the upcoming episode, viewers will be able to vote to change the celebrity and pro pairs for the first time. The "switch-up" is based on Twitter. If you plan to tweet, use #DWTS plus the first name of the celebrity and the first name of the professional dancer. The pairing of different partners will be unveiled on the April 7 edition of the show.

On the next edition on Monday, March 31, the celebrities will dance a routine that encompasses the "most memorable year of their lives." This promises to be a night of emotional backstories and performances.
