Roberts survived a bone marrow transplant in 2012 to treat myelodysplastic syndrome, a disorder spurred by her treatment for breast cancer. The treatment included undergoing chemotherapy to destroy her diseased bone marrow.
Roberts' girlfriend, Amber Laign, is a licensed massage therapist who specializes in treating patients recovering from injuries, sources said. The couple met through mutual friends and have been in a committed relationship, living together in New York, for more than ten years.
