Robin Roberts returns to GMA on Wednesday, as the popular morning show anchor returned to the ABC program after a six-month absence in which she received a bone marrow transplant.
It’s clear that Robin was missed while she was gone, too, as President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama welcomed Robin back with warm smiles and a happy greeting in a pre-taped message.
The message aired Wednesay on “Good Morning America,” approximately just after 7 am.
Robin, who now has a small bit of hair growing back on her head, was also warmly embraced by her fellow co-workers and co-anchors at GMA, as well.
Roberts had to leave GMA months ago to receive a bone marrow transplant for a very rare blood disorder called myelodysplastic syndrome. On Wednesday morning’s show, Roberts said that both faith and her family got her through the tough times while she was away receiving treatment.
“The faith of family and friends has led to this moment,” said Robin. “I share this day of celebration with everyone.”
