Robin Roberts' return boosts 'Good Morning America' ratings

The return of Robin Roberts boost audience viewership on ‘Good Morning America,’ Wednesday to 6.1 million viewers. That is more views than GMA has had since November of last year, according to Nielsen preliminary ratings.

Roberts was recovering from a bone marrow transplant that she had in August of 2012. Roberts is extremely loved among viewers, and her fans absolutely adore her. In attendance with Roberts for the first show were her two sisters and a very loving GMA family.

The increase in views represents a 12% increase for GMA. GMA surpassed the ‘Today Show,’ which reported 5.9 million viewers.

Special guest, 3-time Grammy nominated recording artist, Mandisa, sang “Stronger” for Roberts’s return. During the song, Roberts’ sister, Dorothy, cried like a baby as Robin comforted her.

Roberts has a hectic schedule come this weekend, she will be interviewing Michelle Obama. Robin has had many highlights in her career, but interviewing the first lady will be another such highlight.

After Robin interviews the first lady, she will head over to Los Angeles to appear for ABC at the Academy Awards.
