Robin Roberts plans return to Good Morning America (Video)

Good Morning America fans were happy to hear that Robin Roberts announced she will be able to return to work shortly.

Readers may recall Robin Roberts sharing her details about her cancer battle with TV viewers and readers. Roberts hopes to return to GMA as soon as February.

Roberts said she is responding well to the transplant she received from her sister as part of her cancer treatment. After recovering from breast cancer treatments, Ms. Roberts was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, also referred to as MDS.

According to WebMd.com, myelodysplastic syndrome occurs when the bone marrow isn’t working correctly. Low numbers of blood cells or defective blood may be produced. Those who have cancer treatments may be more likely to get MDS.
