Several media outlets, including CNN, reported that Robin Roberts has publicly announced that she is gay. Roberts, of Good Morning America fame, publicly thanked her girlfriend on a December 30 post on her Facebook page.
According to the article, Roberts’ post was made on the anniversary of the 100th day of her recovery.
Roberts, a 2 time cancer survivor, became the face of faith, hope, and perseverance. Her “never give up” attitude made her an inspiration to those facing similar challenges.
Has any of that changed?
Roberts candidly confessed her faith in an interview with the 700 Club. She spoke of a childhood that was rooted and grounded in faith; where Sunday meant church service. She spoke of how she recites the Prayer for Protection daily. The interview took place in 2007.
Roberts’ story has intensified discussions on the subject of Christianity and lifestyle. One person, on a blog, stated that they would stop praying for her (Roberts) health, and start praying for her soul.
One Christian stated the following:
“According to the Holy Bible, the only sin that is unforgivable is blasphemy. All others, with repentance, can be. While I do not support the lifestyle, I do think that there are a number of other lifestyles that may not be heaven bound either.”
Roberts encouraged others to reflect on what and who they are most thankful for.
Has Roberts’ statements changed your view of her?
