The 61-year-old close friend and right-hand-woman to Howard Stern recently revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer in the endometrial lining, which is related to the uterus and ovaries, according to the Mayo Clinic.
Last October, viewers noticed Quivers was absent from Studio 69. While she still had a presence with the show, but broadcast from her home. Soon, a bevy of rumors began circulating about her health. Many speculated that she underwent gastric bypass surgery.
Others pointed to rumors from other sites that she had a cancerous mass removed. However, it is unknown where that information surfaced because Robin and Howard Stern were tight-lipped about her absence.
Even Stern suggested a doom and gloom situation about his friend, giving credence to Robin Quivers cancer rumors, when he appeared to eulogize his co-host. During a time when many wondered what was wrong with Robin, the shock-jock said:
"Doing a show without Robin is like cutting off my left arm. Or my right arm. Or maybe both. She was my backbone, you understand. Where I would lose courage, Robin always had the courage. She always is the brave one. Always the brave one with me. I could go to her, and I could always rely on her."
Thankfully, Robin Quivers' cancer is in remission or has been cured. Her survival story offers further proof that the C-word is not really the D-word.
