Kris Jenner doesn't play around when it comes to hiring defense attorneys even if it is on behalf of Lamar Odom's DUI case. She hired Robert Shapiro, a man actively involved with drug addiction foundations and charities. Robert Shapiro agreed to take the case but he had one stipulation. Lamar has to be open to treatment.
According to TMZ, Kris sought Robert Shapiro because of his involvement with drug addiction foundations and charities. His involvement started when his 24-year-old son, Brent, passed away in 2005 due to a drug overdose.
Kris hired Robert not only as an attorney on the case, but also as someone who could possibly convince Lamar to seek rehab. So far, Lamar’s wife, Khloe, and the rest of the Kardashian’s have been unsuccessful in convincing Lamar to get help.
Earlier, rumors circulated that Kris wanted Lamar out of the family. She even held an emergency meeting with a divorce lawyer behind Khloe’s back. She wanted to ensure that Khloe would receive their prenuptial agreement and money because Lamar cheated on her. Now, it seems that the story has taken on a different turn. Kris wants to help Lamar be drug free.
Many people may remember Robert Shapiro from the O.J. Simpson trial. He was hired to represent O.J. in the murder of his wife Nicole. It was a televised court case that kept many Americans glued to their TV sets until the trial ended.
