According to the report, “Fifty Shades” author, E.L. James has become very close friends with Pattinson, whose “Twilight” character, Edward Cullen, inspired the raunchy read to begin with.
While James and Pattinson both were seemingly on board with the “50 Shades of Grey” movie casting, studio execs apparently thought that Rob was too closely identified with the “Twilight Saga,” and wanted someone else to be the face of the “Fifty Shades” franchise.
Meanwhile, Robert Pattinson and E.L. James continue to grow their friendship, meaning that Rob could be starring in one of James’ new projects, perhaps a “50 Shades of Grey” 2.0 version.
E.L. has continued to write, and may once again use Robert Pattinson as her inspiration.
What do you think about Robert Pattinson wanting to play Christian Grey in the “50 Shades of Grey” movie? Do you wish he’d been cast?
