Robert Pattinson is reportedly teetering on the verge of a nervous breakdown due to the overwhelming intrusion of the media, fans and paparazzi, reports Britain's Look magazine.
Pattinson, 24, a reserved, self-deprecating and previously unknown British actor, was catapulted onto the world stage in 2009, thanks to the runaway success of the Twilight films.

But Robert, whom friends and acquaintances describe as intensely private, dislikes having photographers following him and tabloids speculating on his personal life.
“Kristin’s [Stewart, Rob's rumored girlfriend] is absolutely frantic about Rob,” says a source. “She’s never known him to get so upset.
The insider adds: "He’s gone from obscurity to being one of the biggest stars on the planet and the pressure he’s under is unbelievable. She’s trying to keep his spirits up but she’s worried he needs more support than he lets on."
'I'VE LOST A HUGE CHUNK OF MY LIFE'
On July 24, 2010, Rob hit a parked car after leaving a friend's house in Malibu, Calif., while trying to get elude paparazzi who were relentlessly snapping photos of him. At one point the normally easygoing Pattinson got out of his car and confronted the photogs and asked them to leave him alone (they didn't).
In 2009, Rob discussed how fame has impacted his life. "I used to love playing live at open mics at bars," he said. "You could go nuts and be completely free. It would be a cathartic experience for me. [But now that I can't do that] I’ve lost a huge chunk of my life."

While Pattinson eats well thanks to a food service that delivers healthy meals directly to his home and works out with celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak, he's reportedly a heavy smoker who works around the clock.
Robert admits he lives a vagabond lifestyle because of his hectic shooting schedule. "My home consists of three suitcases which I live out of," he says. "Everything is in there."
Meanwhile, Pattinson just finished shooting Water for Elephants in Tennessee, and is set begin filming Breaking Dawn (the fourth installment in the Twilight saga) later this year.
As he did for Eclipse, the 6'1" former model is expected to work out and undergo fight training for the intense action scenes in Breaking Dawn, which is expected to start rehearsals in Sept. 2010.

The paparazzi need to give him some privacy. I just wonder how they would like to be hounded every time they stepped out of there house. There is a place and time for everything let the young man have some privacy. Least we not forget what happened to Princess Diana when she was trying to avoid the paparazzi. Cut him some slack so he can do what he likes to do, make movies.....

I really fear for Rob. I am so worried he could get hurt or worse because of these stupid paps. His fame is as huge as Princess Diana's. And we all know what happened to her. He is such a sweet, and beautiful person, I really don't want anything to happen to him. Those paps should be shot! Don't know if this story is true, but I could see this boy having a hard time with all this. Please take care of yourself Rob.....

Well I was trying to stay away from the twilight saga but I was not strong enough. I read the whole saga in less than 5 days and I am hopelessly hooked. The movies are great but I think they left out a few good parts from the books. I am just glad I read them first. I hope the Rob knows how talented he is. Not just for the movies but for the music I fall asleep too everynight as well. Yes he is beautiful but he is still human and the pap is a monster for taking their privacy I don't agree with it either. Hang in there Rob after Twilight is over it will slow down. Just breath.
Not only is Rob tall, hot and talented, but he just seems so down to earth, which makes him all the more attractive. Hope he takes care of himself and that he'll always stay the same, self-deprecating, funny guy we see in his interviews. He's so funny too! Luv ya Rob <3<3<3<3<3<3<3
I believe he should be entitled to his privacy and the paps should respect that, I understand that they are only doing their job but if it is causing Rob such dismay then something should be done about it. Personally as a fan of the series I'm always searching for the newest snaps of Rob in the magazines but I'd rather go without if it is causing him such distress to be snapped all the time. As for all the gossip about his relationship with Kristen Stewart, if he chooses to keep it private then that is the way it should stay. He has gone into the profession to be noted for his acting talents not for who he is or is not dating.
Robert is a gorgeous, talented, exceptional guy and his personal life should stay personal until he decides otherwise. I love him and sincerely hope that he can carry on creating the breathtaking movies and continue to dazzle me and other Twilight lovers for as long as possible, without having to contend with such stressful times.
