Robert Pattinson Indiana Jones cast: 'Twilight' actor to star in Disney movie?

Robert Pattinson as Indiana Jones might seem like an unlikely casting choice at first, but an insider on Disney is touting that the former “Twilight” movie star might in fact be currently considered to play actor Harrison Ford’s iconic role. Although there is no confirmation at this time, it is being alleged that the 28-year-old Robert Pattinson has made one of the last important casting cuts before the pivotal part is chosen. The Christian Post News shares the details behind these potential “options” this Wednesday, June 4, and how the previous Edward Cullen actor might translate to this new adventure film franchise.

Having apparently shown his acting stripes while auditioning for the coveted role, a Robert Pattinson Indiana Jones announcement may be possible in the near future. The same insider who shared this celebrity news also added that in addition to the past “Twilight” star, Chris Hemsworth, Chris Pine, Channing Tatum, and Kellan Lutz are also big names being considered for the role at this time. If Pattinson is indeed chosen, he may take on the mantle of Harrison Ford, the now 71-year-old actor who helped bring the “Indiana Jones” movies to life back in the 1980s and beyond.

She Knows has even gone so far as to say that Rob (or R-Patz, as some fans fondly call him) is at the top of the casting list right now, despite competition for the part being challenging. They have also shared a poll asking fans to cast their vote as to how they feel with him being considered for the lead spot.

"Rob is top of the initial list because he has showed his acting stripes away from Twilight but the competition will be stiff," a source told the Daily Star this week in a statement. "Disney is looking at its long-term options for the Indiana Jones franchise … They feel that the series has huge potential on many levels, starting with the films leading to other spin-offs like games which can generate more money than movies."

While he has never snagged a movie role quite as popular as the “Twilight” series since the end of the mega-million dollar film franchise, Robert Pattinson still remains a well-respected British actor currently in the process of balancing a number of ambitious projects, including promoting his more contemporary flicks, “Maps to the Stars” and “The Rover.” As of early June, Pattinson is also reported to be looking beyond Disney’s “Indiana Jones” role, as he is working on “Life,” another movie filming now in Los Angeles, CA.

Aside from the Robert Pattinson Indiana Jones rumors, the previous Edward Cullen actor also made news this month after it was confirmed that he still keeps in contact with former “Twilight” star and previous girlfriend, Kristen Stewart. Despite the split, R-Patz said “Oh, yeah,” when asked if he is still friends with K-Stew, and despite his love life wanting to be kept private, a number of girls across the U.S. nation may be excited to hear he is up for the part of the upcoming Disney adventure flick.
