According to ComicBook.com on Aug. 29, creator of "The Walking Dead", Robert Kirkman, gave a tour of the prison yard. He shows how the group has grown crops and their success by introducing other methods of sustainable living. It looks as if Rick's group is doing rather well during their post-apocalyptic situation, but who knows what could interrupt such progress in their lives.
Prior this this behind-the-scenes footage, in season three, Rick and the rest of the group had spent time developing a "prison" community without inmates and it appears that Kirkman has shown fans that they've come a long way in accomplishing their goal.
They even had prop weapons at the ready hanging on certain areas of the prison yard's chain link fences shall an encounter with a walker become apparent in the future.
Kirkman even explained that even there is a pig pen, that for legal reasons, no pigs will be slaughtered for consumption entertainment purposes. The pen is really for aesthetics.
While making his way through the thick weeds to one of the gardens, Kirkman claimed to have been bitten by a snake, but it looks like he didn't need medical attention. He did mention that the crew may get irritated with him through possibly messing up the scene.
