Horror comic book fans know all about Robert Kirkman, the man who created “The Walking Dead.” Comics Alliance reported on Oct. 8 that he has another horror comic book series on the way called “Outcast,” with Paul Azaceta drawing the issues.
“Outcast” will start publishing in 2014 and is described as a horror comic book about exorcism and demonic possession. The series will be published under the Skybound imprint that Kirkman set up with Image Comics.
In even bigger news, Kirkman said that his new comic is also going to be a television show for Fox International, which distributes “The Walking Dead” to AMC.
The lead character of “Outcast” is Kyle Barnes, a man whose mom was demonically possessed. He has experienced similar events his entire life and finally decides he needs to learn what is causing these events and attack them head on.
He said that, just like “The Walking Dead,” this series will also have a “real world” dramatic focus.
When Kirkman announced this new comic, he insisted that his main focus is still comic books, regardless of the time he is now spending on television shows. However, Kirkman did say he will work on the comic and TV show at the same time, just like with “The Walking Dead.”
