Robert De Niro seems to have made a glaring typographical error as he signed off at his Hand and Footprint Ceremony at the TCL Chinese Theatre on February 4, 2013 in Hollywood, California.
De Niro apparently inscribed the date to read “2/14/13” which is more in line with Valentine’s Day, just around the corner, rather than the day he planted hand and foot prints!
Giving De Niro moral support at his Hand and Footprint Ceremony – note not his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame – were wife Grace Hightower, actor Billy Crystal and Director David O. Russel, who directed his recent film “The Silver Linings Playbook.”
De Niro’s wife Grace Hightower looked chic in her LBD (little black dress), which she teamed with knee-high black boots.
Note that Robert De Niro actually does not have his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as of yet – this was his Hand and Footprint Ceremony!
De Niro joked that “You know, Joe Pesci always said I'd end up with my feet in cement," the 69-year-old De Niro told the crowd. I don't think this is what he had in mind.” Probably not…
So was that a romantic gesture from Robert De Niro to have used the fourteenth of February instead of the fourth? And written in chocolate colored mud it did look like some kind of Valentine’s Day love note. But no.
Reportedly, the typo has already been fixed but the photograph will live forever... Perhaps it was a brilliant publicity stunt as well.
