A little bit of Robby Krieger synchronicity. This past weekend it was released that Doors guitarist Robby Krieger will be playing a benefit for the Rock School of West L.A. Today we find out he’s also signed on to a benefit to open the Brennan Rock ‘n’ Roll Academy in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on March 28th.
Chuck Brennan is a former rock promoter and CEO of the Dollar Loan Center, who grew up in Sioux Falls and would like to give something back to his home town, and in conjunction with the Boys and Girls Club of Sioux Falls, Brennan is opening the Brennan Rock ‘n’ Roll Academy.
The Rock ‘n’ Roll Academy is a ground up creation of a place where kids can learn to play instruments and use state of the art equipment. The facility will boast nine rehearsal rooms, pro-tools recording studio, and a 4000 square foot concert hall, the academy will be free to students who are members of the Boys and Girls Club and to support the facility are having a week long festival of music, and comedy with the goal of raising a million dollars.
The festival will be March 26-30 and each night will have a different band appearing in a intimate 300 seat venue. Here’s the schedule as it now stands:
March 26 (Tuesday) Night Ranger (original line up) tickets $250
March 27 (Wednesday) Comedian Louie Anderson tickets $500
March 28 (Thursday) Music Legends Night featuring Alice Cooper, Robby Krieger, Tommy Thayer, Eric Singer Tickets $1000
March 29 (Friday) Grand Opening of the Brennan Rock ‘n’ Roll Academy (900 W. 11th St, Sioux Falls, SD, 57104) will be open from 12PM to 10PM and is free to the public. Tours will be available as well as representatives from the Boys and Girls Club to register volunteers, answer questions or register your children to the Rock Academy!
March 30 (Saturday) Vince Neil (Motley Crue), Stephen Pearcy (Ratt), will appear with the band Hairball Tickets $500.
The doors open for all shows at 7PM, the shows are 8:30-11PM, food and drinks are included in the price of the tickets.
