The LA Galaxy has now been awarded four Player of the Week awards this season. The winners so far are Mike Magee, who was later traded to the Chicago Fire, Landon Donovan, and two for Robbie Keane.
The award was given to Keane for assisting a goal and scoring two more against the San Jose Earthquakes in the California Clásico last Saturday at the HubStub Center.
Keane had a spectacular assist as he drew the defender towards and made a majestic through pass. In the meantime, Landon Donovan was making a run for it and received the pass at the top of the box. Donovan defeated the San Jose goalkeeper on a one on one battle.
Later, Gyasi Zardes was penalized in the box. Robbie Keane took charge of taking the penalty, since he has the most goals made with LA.
In the second half, Keane took a pass from the right side and blasted a shot from the top of the box. Again, it was majestic.
Robbie Keane deserved the MLS Player of the Week award for week 27 as helped his team with another win and get closer to securing a playoff spot for the LA Galaxy with his outstanding performance last Saturday against the Earthquakes.
