Police filed charges Monday morning against three men accused of robbing three people with an air gun over the weekend in Illinois.
Patrick Shane, Nicholas LaPaglia, and Daniel Shaver were each charged with aggravated robbery after holding three men at gun point and demanding their wallets and cell phones. The robbery netted one wallet and one cell phone.
Two of the men held the three victims at gun point while the third robber waited in a black SUV. After taking the wallet and cell phone, the three took off in the waiting vehicle. Police apprehended them shortly afterwards. The cell phone and wallet were discovered in the vehicle.
Winnetka Police walked the road the SUV traveled until the weapon was recovered. It was discovered to be an air pistol. The suspects had painted the orange muzzle indicator black to resemble a regular pistol.
Air guns use compressed air to file projectiles. Air guns include BB guns, pellet guns, and airsoft weapons.
The three suspects were held on a $50,000 bond.
