A bank robber with bad hygiene and a hit-and-run driver are among the suspects police in the South Bay are asking the public for help in finding this holiday weekend.

Mountain View police have released photos of a man they say escaped with more than $1,300 in cash during a robbery of a bank in the city’s downtown area Tuesday afternoon.

Besides the photos and physical description of the suspect, police also say the robber “had an odor about him indicating that he had not bathed in awhile.”

The robber is also described as wearing a dark shirt under a tan colored one. Additionally, the suspect had on faded blue jeans, construction-styled boots, sunglasses with a thick frame and a “Callaway” brand baseball cap.

Police say the suspect was not seen carrying a weapon, but he did have a blue bag, which he put the stolen money in. Police did not identify the bank that had been robbed.

Meanwhile in nearby San Jose, in an unrelated matter, police are appealing to the public for help in finding the driver of a car that hit a pedestrian last week.

Police say a 26-year-old man San Jose man was hit by the car on Hostetter Road at the intersection of Four Oaks Road a little before 10 p.m. last Wednesday.

The man was taken to a local hospital where police say he is being treated for “severe” injuries. His name has not been released.

Investigators are describing the car they’re looking for as a dark-colored, four-door sedan that would have damage to its front end.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them, or Silicon Valley Crime Stoppers.
