After months of rumors, the 2013 Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival lineup was announced on March 18. It was revealed during a press conference at the famed Whiskey A Go-Go in Los Angeles. The sixth annual traveling music festival will feature Rob Zombie as this year's main stage headliner with Five Finger Death Punch sharing the bill. Other main stage artists will include Mastodon and Amon Amarth, a Mayhem first for the hardcore Swedish death metal artist.

The bar was raised in 2012 as Slipknot and Slayer dominated the 2012 festival main stage [review] , while Anthrax and The Devil Wears Prada thrashed the Jagermeister stage [review]. The 2013 artists have their work cut out for them. Mayhem will also add a fourth performance stage for the first time.
