Rocker and horror movie maker Rob Zombie will headline a show at the Seven Flags Event Center in Clive on Friday at 8 p.m. All five of Zombie's studio albums have made the Top 10 of the Billboard 200, and he has cranked out nine Top 20 Mainstream Rock singles. Known for songs like "Living Dead Girl", "Thunderkiss '65", "Dragula", and "Feel So Numb" as much as he is for his theatrical stage show, horror movie footage, and pyro, a Rob Zombie concert is an event not to be missed. Tickets to see Zombie in concert are $39.50 ($45 on the day of the show). Locals Rumble Seat Riot and Holy White Hounds will open the all ages show.

Matt Nathanson will perform at the Simon Estes Amphitheater on Friday as part of the Nitefall on the River summer concert series. The folk rock singer and songwriter broke through in 2008 with the multi-platinum single "Come on Get Higher" off the album Some Mad Hope. Nathanson's next two albums would peak in the Top 10 of the Rock chart and the Top 20 of the Billboard 200. Opening the show for Nathanson at 8 pm. will be indie rocker Andrew McMahon. Tickets for the all ages event are $25.

Des Moines alternative pop/rock band Sky Patrol will hold a record release party at Vaudeville Mews in Des Moines on June 18. The quartet is set to launch their new EP Somber Gold at the event, which will feature performances by the band and special guests The Spartan Blue.
