On Wednesday headline news about three men joining the unemployment line captured media attention when it was revealed the three were Rob Ryan, Tony Sparano and Rob Parker.
The Fort Worth Star pointed out that Rob Ryan was fired two years into a three year deal with the Dallas Cowboys, and that the defensive coordinator appears to be the one blamed for the team losing the most yards in the team's history.
The Jets have fired their offensive coordinator Tony Sparano in a separate move in the sports world. And while Rob Ryan got two years to prove himself, Sparano, formerly head coach of the Miami Dolphins, got only one season to do so the Wall Street Journal reported.
And for those who think that sports players are the only ones getting the axe in 2013; think again. ESPN has fired Rob Parker, although the sports news leader issued a statement saying that "Rob Parker's contract expired at year's end," but the company spokesperson did acknowledge that when they "evaluated our needs and his work, including his recent RG3 comments," that they determined not to renew him.
