There is no doubt that the New England Patriots and tight end Rob Gronkowski are on the same page when it comes to Gronkowski’s health, but are they on the same page when it comes to the super star tight end’s return to the field? As NESN reports on October 2, Gronkowski dismissed reports of a rift between him and the time and stressed that they are both on the same page.
Gronkowski was rumored to make his return this past Sunday night in a game against the Atlanta Falcons, but when Gronkowski didn’t make the trip reports surfaced that the team was pressuring the tight end’s return. Gronkowski’s father reportedly didn’t want his son to return until he was fully recovered from his forearm and back surgery, which would be understandable since Gronkowski re-injured the forearm in the team’s first playoff game against the Houston Texans after returning too soon.
Rob Gronkowski addressed rumors and said he is just going “day by day”.
“Everything’s great around here. Just going out to practice with the team and practicing with the team, it’s helpful every single week to get the chemistry back down and get the timing of football back down.”
When Gronkowski does return it will take some time for him to regain the form that made him one of the more dominate offensive threats in the NFL. Quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots offense will definitely welcome his return. As far as any tension with the team, Gronkowski said:
“We were on the same page from they very get go. And still on the same page and it’s going good. I’m progressing every week, I’m feeling better every week, getting stronger every week and better conditioning every week. Just still sticking to the motto ‘day by day.’”
