Many fans were disappointed last week when they expected Gronkowski to play and he did not. Here we are in week 7 of the regular NFL season and this time it's looking a bit more optimistic. On October 18, NFL.com reports that Rob Gronkowski has been cleared by all doctors to play in the Sunday game against the New York Jets.
Many reports had Gronkowski returning last week for the Patriots game against New Orleans. Unfortunately, he was not fully cleared to return and did not play that game. The star tight end has been fully practicing with his team though and when he does play, Gronkowski is expected to put up huge numbers.
It's no secret that Gronkowski has been slow to return this season. Ongoing issues with his forearm have made doctors hesitant to release him to play and that has left many fans antsy while waiting for his return. It has been especially frustrating for fantasy football team owners who have been waiting to put him back into their starting rosters but this just may be the week.
The New England Patriots are already dominating with a 5-1 record. That is without the dominating presence of Gronkowski. Now that he is set to return, the Patriots are only looking stronger. The Tom Brady/Rob Gronkowski combination is a bolster to the team and to fantasy football team owners who have either player on their team. Brady has seen mediocre numbers this season but that should improve with the return of the "Gronk."
