By Paul Fitzgerald - Director of Business Development and Marketing for The Next Trend Designs Inc. set to take company to new heights locally and globally
Rob Elsey calls his two and a half year hiatus from The Next Trend Designs Inc. a worthy venture, but he knows that his return to the popular Marketing, Advertising and Promotional Company - one known widely around the world – is going to be an exciting ride in so many ways.
The 37 year-old stepped into new waters and opened up his own company, Brand Builders, in early 2012, after being a lead sales representative for over a decade with The Next Trend Designs Inc.
Elsey, a graduate of the esteemed business and advertising program at Sheridan College, says he is elated to return and work from the company’s headquarters in Mississauga, ON – only a stone’s throw away from the Toronto Pearson International Airport.
This time he is returning to take on a massive responsibility as Director of Business Development and Marketing, and as he puts it, he is “set to take the company to new heights nation-wide and around the world.”
That’s right he is ready for a new challenge and growth.
“I had 10 amazing years with The Next Trend Designs Inc. and I wanted to explore the world of branding, advertising, marketing and sales a bit more to get a feel for what’s out there,” he says during an interview from his new office.
“I admit during my time growing the Brand Builders I missed the camaraderie and charisma of the The Next Trend team and of course the excitement of working with hundreds of companies involved in the advertising and promotional industries.”
He adds, “The Next Trend Designs Inc. is a forward thinking company and they are trusted and relied on by so many other companies worldwide, so it’s great to be back in action.”
He knows his education, coupled with his past experiences, will only benefit the goals and mission of The Next Trend Designs Inc.
In fact, Elsey, who now calls Milton, ON his home, has a three year plan to expand the company into new markets.
“My three year campaign to grow the company further will educate, engage and excite the world through unique online social communication channels on the wide variety of novel and quality products we offer,” he explains.
Interestingly, Elsey is aware of the challenges that come with branding, marketing and sales in today’s ‘hyper digital world.’
“Every company out there is focusing on the social media marketing experience to bring in new consumers,” he says.
“However, what we are also going to employ is a rigorous relationship building campaign that far exceeds any social online connection. The two approaches will only complement one another. One thing I have learned in my professional career is that having a strong online presence is important, but even more important is connecting with people directly in person and experiencing the true excitement in their eyes when you show them a new product, branding idea or unique wearable lines.”
“My role will be about building relationships in a symbiotic way – online and personal which is vital for professional decision makers out there who are in their 30s and 40s.”
Rob Charlton and Janine Taylor, both co-founders and owners of The Next Trend Designs Inc., say they couldn’t be happier to have Elsey back on board.
“Rob Elsey is a close business colleague and a friend, and we have been in talks for a while on him returning,” says Taylor. “We are elated to have him back and now heading up our business development and marketing division. He is outgoing, creative, thinks outside the box and thrives on success. He is also a superb team player and one who cares about others and the very community he lives in.”
Taylor adds, “Rob Elsey is a one-of-a-kind and his return marks a very exciting chapter for The Next Trend Designs Inc.”
