We all have a restaurant where we find comfort. My choice is Roasters on Lenox Road. My father-in-law introduced me to Roasters in the early 1990s – not too far after I met him. In some strange way, I felt that I “grew up” with Roaster’s in my adult life. Since I have been coming here, I got married, had a child and simply advanced in age. Every single time, I have never been disappointed.
I like the fact that Roaster’s doesn’t have an extensive menu. Indeed they have tried different dishes from time to time, but overall, there are the usual suspects here with the Slow Roasted Rotisserie Chicken and the BBQ Rotisserie Chicken or Pork Plate. Both are classic Southern staples that ought to be on the menu in every restaurant that operates under the banner of a “Dixie Motif.” The rotisserie chicken is a hit with my wife while the Santa Fe Grill, Mexican Chicken Breast and Turkey Plate became part of my favorite dish list.
The sides are always hot and fresh. From Roasters’ Lima Beans to the legendary Broccoli-Cauliflower Casserole, patrons know that they’re getting their veggie servings.
On occasion, I’ll ordered up the moist Dad’s Meatloaf or the Beef Brisket, but there’s real adventure on the menu such as, the Lemon Pepper Flank Steak. This marinated flank steak is sliced think and served over rice.
Roasters is kid-friendly with its Chicken Fingers, Grilled Cheese and even BBQ Brisket offerings.
Even though I have been coming to the Lenox location for years, I love the Alpharetta and Sandy Springs locations just as much.
