Travel back before the asteroid struck Earth to a time when giant dinosaurs ruled the planet. Stand under a T-Rex (and not be afraid) or stroll through the woods in search of a Triceratops. But all of the dinosaurs are extinct! How is this possible? Spending the day with the dinosaurs is possible at Dinosaur World in Plant City, Florida. Dinosaur World is just a two and one-half hour drive from the Vero Beach area, making it possible to do in a single day. Or you can spend the night in Orlando, which is just a short drive east on I-4 from Dinosaur World.
What can you expect once you enter the gates of Dinosaur World? Let’s take a look at the many different attractions and things to do at the park. The latest addition to the park is the animatronic dinosaur scene featuring everyone’s favorite five dinosaurs. This scene includes Brachiosaurus, Triceratops, Pterodactyl, Stegosaurus and T-Rex and is a must-see when visiting the park.
More than 100 life-sized dinosaur models are scattered throughout the park among the lush assortment of natural vegetation, offering a place for families to learn and have fun in the presence of these great giants. These models are grouped together as they are believed to have roamed and lived.
See authentic fossils up close in the museum which is home to real dinosaur eggs, raptor claws and mammoth teeth.
Kid’s will have a blast at both of the playgrounds, one of which is designed for guests under 7 years of age. Don’t forget about the Fossil Dig where kids ages three-12 can dig in the sand for hidden treasures and authentic fossils. Kids can keep up to three fossils they discover during the Fossil Dig. Cost for the Fossil Dig is $2 per child.
If you live in the area or plan to travel to the Central Florida area, Dinosaur World is a must-see, especially for those with kids who are fascinated by these giants. Even the adults will be amazed by the adventure they have during a visit to Dinosaur World.
