Chuck Schneekloth, the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA) New Jersey Representative of Metuchen, N.J. has announced the Inaugural RRCA NJ Grand Prix Series of races to be held throughout the state in 2013. This is to be the first year of an annual event.
According to Mr. Schneekloth, “This is going to be a fun year where we, as a group, not only strive to raise $100k collectively for the Hurricane Sandy Relief Foundation, but unify the state through a dynamic and unique running series that has it all, from the mile to the marathon!”
The series this year will include the following nine events:
- February- Super Sunday Four Miler
- April- Asbury Park Half Marathon
- May- Ridgewood 10k
- June- College Ave Mile
- October- Get the Gorilla 5k (xc)
- October- Trick or Trot 5k
- October- Atlantic City Marathon
- November- Trenton Half Marathon
- December- Super Santa Run
Upon completion of six races, participants will be awarded a “I Ran to Restore the Shore” over-sized medal.
Participants in the series will accumulate points and awards will be presented at the culmination of the series. There will be individual and team awards. More details on how points are accumulated can be found on the Series Web Site.
