A 27-year-old Colorado Springs man was arrested Wednesday morning after road rage led to an altercation involving the discharging of a firearm.
According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Firefly Cir. came in shortly before 8 AM. Officers discovered that the situation had begun as a road rage incident, with both parties living at an apartment complex on Firefly Cir. After both vehicles had stopped in the apartment parking lot, the occupants of the vehicles began arguing with each other. The argument carried on inside an apartment foyer where the suspect, Jeffrey Traylor brought out a handgun, the department reported.
Traylor threatened the four occupants of the other vehicle before striking one of them in the head with the weapon, lacerating the victim's head and causing the gun to discharge. No one was injured from the shot fired. The victim was treated for the laceration caused by being hit in the head with the gun.
Officers arrested Traylor on a charge of second degree assault and four counts of felony menacing.
