The process of shooting anything in the entertainment business, especially in film or television, requires team effort. In this case, it is the film production team called RnD Entertainment Studios (RnD stands for the founders, Donald E. Reynolds and Larry Dickerson) out of Clearwater, Florida. However RnD is not confined to SW Florida, as the company/team shoots anywhere necessary in producing film projects.
RnD Entertainment Studios was founded in 2002, although 'history' concerning its development indicates that it began back in 1991.
RnD's mission has been, and continues to be, to create and produce financially viable materials outside the mainstream Hollywood Loop!
Like most film production teams, RnD consists of a cast and crew, and each is very important, as there is no "i" in TEAM. RnD is no exception. One of these team members is the cinematographer or director of photography (DP), Jayson Martinez (aka Martin Lemaire).
Martinez's work can best be seen in slideshow attached. He is a team member less likely to be recognized, as his face is usually obscurred by the huge camera set before it, or he is sometimes found in precarious positions to get just the right shot!
Martinez, too, is challenged quite often, if not all the time, due to the many different variables that are part of filmmaking, some of which are: camera equipment, actors, lighting, weather conditions, locations, props used, weight of equipment to be handled, available space to work in, strength and coordination needed to endure what is required of him, and much more.
Note: For those not sure what a DP is all about: A cinematorgapher is the one who is photographing with a motion picture camera. The art and science of which is known as cinematography.
This title is generally equivalent to director of photography (DP) used to designate a chief over the camera and lighting crews working on a film, and he or she is responsible for achieving artistic and technical decisions related to the image. To most, 'cinematographer and director of photography' are interchangeable terms.
Jayson Martinez, DP, your fans look forward to the wonderful results that you and the rest of RnD Entertainment Studios' filmmaking team has and is producing. One film, by RnD, (to be announced) will be released in late 2011. Their latest film, Snap, is currently in post-production.
