“Rizzoli & Isles” will honor actor Lee Thompson Young in season 5, and Angie Harmon has promised several episodes will be dedicated to him. The New York Daily News reports on March 20 that the suicide of the 29-year-old actor has affected the show greatly, but writers are prepared to remember him in a positive light.

The season four finale of “Rizzoli & Isles” did not provide any clues for how the show will handle the death of Young. He played Barry Frost on the popular TNT drama, and his suicide shocked cast members because Young was on medication. The fourth season was cut short because of this loss, but writers have been preparing for season 5 with a tribute.

Harmon indicates both episodes one and two of the next season will deal with the loss of Young. Although she cannot share many details with fans, it is clear that the producers want to honor the actor the right way. The show is set to return in June with new episodes, so fans will have to wait several months before seeing the tribute.

Fans have been suggesting several possibilities for the next season, and some believe the show will deal with Young’s suicide directly by having his character follow the same path. Others believe he may simply be killed off on the drama but still given respect and the proper mourning fans have come to expect.
