“Doomsday” is the July 8 episode of “Rizzoli & Isles.” If you haven’t seen this episode, beware of spoilers. Be sure to check out the slideshow for more quotes from the episode. “Rizzoli & Isles” airs Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. central on TNT.

Everyone’s talking about the end of the world. The victim of the week, Peter, has a pretty cool bug out shelter, but too bad it led to his death. The case itself is fun up until we need to find Bob’s accomplice. Oh, who could it be? We haven’t talked to anyone but the guy who notified the police that Peter might be dead. Hmm…The twist that Bob has been stealing from clients is nice though, although he had been on screen for a tad too long to be innocent, so I was starting to get suspicious.

Preparing for the future is on everyone’s mind. I like that Frankie is knowledgeable about “preppers.” It brings some lighthearted conversations into the squad room. Korsak’s personal storyline fits in surprisingly well. He is considering his options about what to do, which includes retirement. Seeing Jane try to process this is great because she opens up a bit more. She is still processing losing Frost, and I don’t think she could handle it if Korsak left. I don't know what I would do without Korsak either. He’s an integral part of the team.

In previous seasons, we have seen Frankie try to get on the homicide squad as a detective. We haven’t really had that come up this season. Now he’s just always there and in a suit. Actually, what is his official job title? It’s unclear. He’s no longer in uniform, so he’s moved up from being a beat cop. Anyways, it is great to see him thinking about his future. We are finally getting some development. Hopefully we see more of him either in night school or using what he has learned. It would be cool to see more of the tech department at the precinct.

What did you think of the episode? Thankfully there weren't any out of character Maura moments in this episode. Leave me your thoughts in a comment below.
