Dale D. Redden was arrested Tuesday morning by Riviera Beach Police, Fla. and charged with assault and battery, animal abuse, and probation violations reported cbs12 news.com.

On June 6, Redden walked into a home and demanded he be served food on the stove being prepared by an 18-year-old woman. The relationship of Redden and the woman has not been clarified, however the young woman told Redden the food was for the home's residents, and there was not enough to share with anyone else.

The six-foot and 190 pound man flew into a rage and carried the woman into the bedroom where he punched her in the face. The woman was able to flee, and the other home residents were able to get the man out of the house while calling authorities. As Redden pounded on the door to get back into the home, he spotted the family's tiny three-month-old puppy. In his intense rage, Redden grabbed the collar of the pooch and slammed the animal to the ground. The puppy ran into her crate and Redden kicked her again.

Redden told the family, including the two children who witnessed the disturbance, that he was going home to retrieve his gun.

When authorities arrived, Redden had disappeared and apparently had no home address.

Redden remains in jail. No bond has been set. There have been no reports about the condition of the puppy.
