Riverwalk Burger Battle™ V returns to Fort Lauderdale on May 23

On Friday, May 23, 16 of Fort Lauderdale's best restaurants against each other as they compete for the title of "Best Burger" in the Riverwalk Fort Lauderdale Burger Battle presented by Publix and Publix Apron's Catering & Cooking School. Now in it's 5th year, the event turns Huizenga Plaza in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale into the ultimate battlefield for burger supremacy.

Touting homemade sauces, original recipes, and high-quality ingredients, each restaurant will show off their most creative gourmet burger to over 1200 guests and a panel of select judges for the coveted "Best Burger" title and other awards including Fan Favorite, Best Burger Joint, Best Bar & Grill, and Best Knife & Fork Burger. Tasters have an opportunity to eat, drink, & vote for only $40 per person or $125 for the VIP experience.

Publix Aprons Cooking School alongside Funky Buddha Brewery and Pop Lab will be providing exclusive bites, special craft beers, and treats in the VIP section. In addition to the unlimited burger tasting, all event goers will be treated to the French-Fry Bar run this year courtesy of Burger-Fi. Each guest will also receive two drink tickets for use at either the Jack Daniels cocktail stands & the Barefoot Wines tent provided by Premier Beverage and beer stations supplied by Stephens Distributing to complement their burger. SOSOS, a local acoustic roots rock ensemble jam band, will be the featured live music entertainment for the evening.

The 2014 Contenders include: Returning Champ - Rosie's Bar & Grill, American Social, Big Bear Brewing Company, Burgers & Suds, Burger Zone, The Downtowner Saloon, Georgie's Alibi, Gimme A Buger, Hard Rock Café, Knucklehead Burgers, Shula Burger, Tucker Duke's Lunchbox, Timpano Italian Chophouse, and Whiskey Tango.
