Mariano Rivera had a very tearful goodbye tonight on television as everyone watched his last game for the New York Yankees. On Sept. 27, Fox Sports posted about the tears everyone gathered around the television to see tonight. Are you sad to see Rivera go?
Derek Jeter walked to the mound to get Rivera as it appeared he told him that it was time to go. It was at two outs in the ninth inning when Jeter along with Andy Pettitte went out to the mound to help him to the dugout. He then received a four minute standing ovation from the crowd for his time on the team. The game was sold out so it was a packed house all on their feet as Rivera cried on the shoulder of his teammate Pettittie.
Pettittie and Rivera are both retiring at the end of the season. This made for a very emotional game for everyone watching it on television tonight. If you missed it, Fox Sports has the clip up for fans to see. Fans are sad to see him go, but it was an amazing send off tonight.
