Rising star Katie Cole takes on SXSW and Nashville (Photos)

Coming off of recent successes and achievements, Katie Cole is ready to take on Austin’s biggest music event of the year—SXSW. The Melbourne native has already taken America by storm as a multiple music awards winner, including the ASCAP Plus award in 2010 and 2011, the Artist in Music Awards in 2012 and 2013, the grand prize on Ourstage.com, and the Movado Future Legend trophy. Cole’s musical style is a self-described “Americana meets British pop.” Her 2011 “Lost Inside a Moment” EP, produced by acclaimed record producer Howard Willing (Smashing Pumpkins, Counting Crows, Liz Phair, Sheryl Crow, OK Go), has brought her to new heights in her career and she is on her way to the top. Cole’s songs, “Lost Inside a Moment” and “Sunrise,” have received major radio play in the UK on BBC Radio and she has appeared on radio interviews including Mickey’s Maximum Exposure. Her captivating music and lyrics tell of stories and heartfelt emotions that wrench the heart and reaches to the depths of the soul. Not just another pretty face, Cole is a combination of sweet Aussie charm and self-deprecating wit. Having already shared the stage with Glen Campbell, Jackson Browne, and Anna Nalick, her commanding stage presence draws in the crowd like moths to a flame. Her songs soothe the soul and make the heart reach for those missed chances at love. With a recently released new single “I Can’t Wait” and a new album “Lay It All Down” (featuring Kris Kristofferson and Instant People) about ready to drop, the future is looking very bright for this talented songstress. Cole is currently touring SXSW and Nashville, with a Los Angeles homecoming show to round out an incredible month of March.
