The developers behind “Risen 3: Titan Lords” want you to explore their world.
Every open-world adventure game naturally wants you to explore, but the creative team behind “Risen 3: Titan Lords” take that to another level.
Featuring what they call a “hand-crafted” world, the development team says the game is as open-world as it can be, making it possible to experience anything, at any given time-nothing is inorganic.
Consisting of over 50 hours of gameplay and a brand-new combat system, “Risen 3: Titan Lords,” which was released today on XBox 360, Steam and PlayStation 3, is built for exploration. Developed by Piranha Bytes, the development team behind the other games in the series and the cult-favorite "Gothic" series, "Risen 3 Titan Lords" claims to be a return to the roots of both of those series. With the addition of swimming to the engine, “Risen 3” developer Björn Pankratz said gamers will have their hands-full throughout their experience with the game.
“Every location, creature and even NPC could be the first one you can encounter in Risen 3. Exploring is the key. In every corner of the world you will find cool adventures, challenges and items for the player to gain,” Pankratz told Examiner today in an exclusive interview. “The storyline is non linear as possible. You choose your own way through our world full of immersion. Every item, creature or NPC is placed by hand. The pacing is an important factor. Every passage in the game has to be interesting, so we placed all the stuff in a certain order into the world, so that the player always has interesting stuff to do and always has the chance to do many different things at the same time. “
